If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8, then you’ve probably started seeing a notification to upgrade. Don’t worry, you aren’t required to upgrade, but if you have a computer purchased in the last 3 years, you probably should consider it. The main reason to do so is that the free Windows 10 upgrade may not be around forever and it’s always best to have the latest operating system. It does come with a few new features like Cortana (voice commands) as well as much better support for multiple monitors and touchscreens. But the best feature is the return to the familiar Windows Start button. It supports the new metro tiles but it’s far easier to navigate. Beware that older hardware may struggle and it’s always a good idea to back up your data before doing any major installations, but if things go well you won’t lose any programs or data. Before you upgrade, contact us and we’ll make sure you’re ready to upgrade.
